Wet n' Wild Color Icon Blusher in #834E Berry Shimmer

Wet n Wild is one of those lines that I just love to pieces.  The entire line generally has functional (if boring) packaging, a phenomenal price point and the quality is outstanding.  Because of this, I own just about everything Wet n Wild has on the market.  But last weekend, I found a blush I had somehow neglected to pick up.

This is the Wet n Wild Color Icon Blusher in #834E, Berry Shimmer.  It is a gorgeous deep wine color with gold sparkle.  The pigmentation is absolutely phenomenal.  It has fantastic color payoff.  

The texture of the blush is very soft and easy to blend with a lovely satin finish.  I found that as you blend it out, it does tend to lose the sparkle, but not the pigmentation (I hate it when blushes work the other way around - I'm looking at you, Milani).  

The Wet n Wild Color Icon blusher in Berry Shimmer contains 4 grams of product and is available wherever Wet n Wild is sold.  I picked mine up at Wal-Mart for $2.93.

Wet n' Wild Nouveau Pink 511B Silk Finish Lipstick

Wet n' Wild's Nouveau Pink #511B Silk Finish lipstick is a bright neon pink with a glossy satin finish.   It definitely leans more blue than neutral.  The color is similar to MAC's Candy Yum-Yum, but the finish is very different. It applies very smoothly and is not drying on the lips, but the color payoff isn't completely opaque - even with multiple passes it retains that semi-sheer finish.  Also, because of the finish, the wear time is probably two hours max.  It did fade a little unevenly.

This is a decent lipstick.  It feels good on the lips and the price is definitely right at $0.99.  The packaging is really flimsy and it's very easy to accidentally gouge the product when removing or replacing the lid.  Also, the bullet itself just seems to rattle around a lot.  Despite the vibrant color, I didn't have too much of an issue with this staining my lips.

Review: Wet n' Wild Coloricon blusher in Mellow Wine

  

I picked up the Wet n' Wild blush in Mellow Wine quite a while ago and I'm just now getting around to posting a review.  Mellow Wine is a dusky pinky peach.  The color payoff is excellent.  I often use this color much like I use my Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, as a sort of soft contour through the backs of my cheeks.  It's definitely not a bronzer, but I do think that it's deep enough of a color that it works well in that application.

Mellow Wine isn't the smoothest blush I've ever used, but it's got a nice texture and it applies well.  Mellow Wine has enough pigmentation that it shows up well even on darker skintones.  I can usually get around 6 hours of wear out of it before it fades significantly.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Blusher in Mellow Wine contains 4 grams of product and retails for the very budget friendly price of $2.99.

Review: Wet n' Wild lipsticks

So in keeping with my recent beauty resolution, I am doing my best to wear more lip products.  I don't have many lip products and so I've been trying to pick them up when I can.  I picked up a couple of MAC lipsticks and a NARS lipstick, but at that price point (especially the NARS), I can't do that very often.  So I've been looking at more affordable brands and so far two that I am really impressed with are Rimmel and Wet n' Wild.

I recently got two of the Wet n' Wild lipsticks.  I picked up number 960D, which doesn't appear to have a name.  It has a muted pink color.  I think the swatch skews a bit more orange/brown than it is in real life.

I also picked up number 970, Purty Persimmon, which is very much in line with this summer's tangerine/orange trend.  I've worn it a few times and I do like it, but it certainly is vibrant.

Both lipsticks are in the Wet n' Wild Mega Last Lip Color line.  They aren't entirely matte, but they definitely aren't a creamy finish.  I moisturized well before I applied and they were a bit drying and weren't the most comfortable lipstick to wear.  They were impressively opaque and had good staying power without staining at all.


$2.99 at most drug stores.
